In Romans 3:9–21, Paul brings every person into the courtroom of God and closes every mouth. The Law does not justify us; it exposes our guilt and leaves us with no defense. But when the sentence seems certain, the glory of the gospel breaks in: “But now…” the righteousness of God is revealed through Christ.
